Installing drywall the easy way …
Drywall, drywall, plaster, plaster, all mean the same thing at the end of the day – Drywall. Across North America this product is widely used in homes and is gaining popularity across Europe.
The tables are made of gypsum pressed between two layers of heavy paper on both sides. The most common are made of half inch thick, however some may require the installation of five eight as a desired thickness. There are many other types of drywalls available in the market to support special environments such as bathrooms and other circumstances of high- moisture.
A trick of the trade inside information is to install the horizontal panels to minimize the number of joints with duct required. You can buy drywall up to twelve feet long, if possible, try to buy lengths ranging from one end of the room to another. If the upper room twelve feet wide, of course, you will need to add a vertical seam.
Shaping and cutting the wall is one of the easiest part of the job. All you need to do is use a ruler and a utility knife, once you have taken your exact measurements. Note that these measures may not be well butted together. If you try to be too often stated that the end result is the same chopping board 2-3 times its measure ends up being too tight. In my experience, a drywall taper can fill gaps up three eighths inch. Start the cut on the face of the board by placing the straight edge along the line measured and simply pull the knife along the straight edge 2-3 times to ensure you have completely cut through the paper. No need to cut back on the cast as they explain in the next step.
Slightly take the drywall and slide a piece of wood under the plate is larger if a larger piece with a quick motion, snap the board along the cut line. After the cast is snapped, bend back and cut the paper into the back of the board also.
Typically you want to use wood screws, 1.25 inches to hang the drywalls, some builders may prefer to use 1.5-inch screws in the ceiling for added support. Occasionally, you can finish installing panels plaster on an existing drywall, if that is the wall that nee to increase the length of the screws by the thickness of the existing masonry wall. There is no need to insist in this, but make sure the screws are going into the studs every time.
More experienced drywall installers have special tools to help them your installation process. There are special screwdrivers electric drywall with a special clutch built into them that will prevent the screws and tighten tips penetrate deeper than recommended. These devices also come with an option of holding dozens of screws preloaded to speed up the work. If only a project for a time it is taking, then it probably is not necessary for this type of tool, a simple cordless drill can be so effective.
It is recommended install drywall screws every twelve inches at the outer edges and perhaps every sixteen inches on center. Be sure to keep together around half an inch from the ground to prevent moisture from reaching the board, this is especially important when installed over concrete floors.
When it comes to installation of drywall on the ceiling, you may want to align some of his friends to lend a hand with these items because they could weight about 70-80 pounds per leaf. I recommend that the nail two pieces of two by fours to form a T-shaped Once the board has been lifted into position, only the T-bar wedge under one end, and start fixing the plasterboard.
The recording and filling is the most critical part of the process of drywall. Many people have tried themselves in the past. I am sure that with proper practice and persistence you can master this technique, but I always pass this process in a professional to ensure a good finish.
Before painting the walls, be sure to apply a primer coat to the surface for best results finish. If you are going to jump the priming process, is running the risk of sample joints after painting.
